This is our GP-F1740R spring found in the steering valve. This important spring functions to maintain precise control of power steering fluid . The flow control valve is in constant “ flutter” as the load changes from the steering valve. Eventually this spring fatigues and breaks. Your system will continue to operate, but not optimally. The flow control valve itself can wear also aggravating the system. Always check your steering valve if this spring is broken. Small pieces can enter the steering valve damaging the body and spool.
