This is our kit for replacing missing shims on John Deere A and G model tractors. Usual set-up is for 3 shims under the eccentric bushing located on the pedestal assembly. The function of these shims are to reduce excessive up and down endplay of the pedestal shaft. Each shim is of 20 gauge material like the original. The cut in the shim is for clearance of the screw for the eccentric bushing. The original steering set-up may have used fewer shims initially and now more are required due to wear or were inadvertently removed during a previous rebuild. These shims are no longer available from Deere but we offer them here as a set of 3 to refresh the assembly as this is a moderately involved process to do.
