These are square headed set screws. They have a machined end called a dog point. Their function is to anchor a shaft by projecting this point (dog) into a mating hole in the shaft. These particular set screws are used on the throttle and shutter control levers of the letter series John Deere two cylinder tractors. These are hard to find parts for this application. Check your parts manual for application.
